Hi, I’m Allison Power.
I am a passionate master’s level educator with over 125 credits of child development training. I care about teaching kids more than just academics, fostering strong foundations at each child’s pace, teaching necessary social-emotional skills, and building confidence for a lifetime of learning.
My Approach
In my early career, I started as a figure skating instructor and camp director of an outdoor adventure camp where I developed the skill of making learning fun and experiential. After graduating with my Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services and retiring from professional figure skating, I moved from Boston to Idaho to pursue my Master’s in Clinical and School Counseling. Since then, I have worked in school and clinical settings as a child and family counselor. Alongside counseling, I opened a small, local preschool and began teaching homeschool classes to fulfill my dream of bringing my combined expertise in academic and social-emotional growth to families in the Valley. I am passionate about fostering a love of learning for life. I look forward to welcoming your family into our homeschool community!
Fun Fact
In college, I was a professional figure skater competing for Team USA around the world. Hobbies
I love recreational volleyball, dancing, watercolor painting, learning about neuroscience, and visiting all the local parks and bookstores with my family.
